Paris July 25th

Her ears strained to hear the whir of the gears as the bikers cascaded from under the tunnel. As focused as she was though, she couldn’t distinguish the sound from the deafening cheers that surrounded her. Discouraged, she watched the mass of rainbow colored jerseys fade out of her vision.

The minutes went by slowly, her eyes anxiously scanning the empty road. The domino cheers slowly moved away from her position, and then made its way back in the same fashion as the bikes catapulted past the hoards of people.

Finally the bikes rounded the corner and back into her field of vision. This time she focused on their facial expressions: all very concentrated, she observed, as they readied themselves to cross the finish line. The bikes whizzed by and she had to crane her neck to see the last of the bikers disappear around the corner. She listened to the far off cheers of the people watching the bikers cross the finish line, this time she searched for the triumphant yell of the winner. No such luck, but if she strained her eyes she could almost see his jubilant face, screaming what she only wished she could hear.

Because no one is reading this any more I feel no guilt in posting a picture i didn’t take today. I did take some today actually I just wanted to post this before it got too old.

This is not my sun flower

my sunflowers are still sprouts

except for the ones that died

they are all completely green

and they are about five inches high

maybe I just can’t grow

sunflowers

The submarine

couldn’t find the water

the earth was too hard

the air too soft

navigation was broken

the crew was in tears

how would they ever

return to their origin ?

the sub was their home

the captain their dad

that one guy the little brother who got beat up

all the time

but now they were stuck

up here in a tree

and I fear the fall won’t be pleasant
